Sorry about that - I started a Herunarth post right after posting the Duilin post, but then never finished it. I was going to do a Herunarth post and then another Duilin post.

No problem Duilin - you are more reliable anyway than most of us...

Beleg, Herunarth with a servant, Gandalf, the Elves... Any objections to Nolentir's presence in the background? I would only be mentioning him briefly.

Ahh, I have re-read the game thread. Funny, now it reads as a new book! I see we have to "organize" the trip to the top of the tower. And for that we have to get Herunarth and Duilin meet Beleg and Gandalf's company in the court below the tower. So, Duilin, are you ready to post your long-promised Herunarth post?

Well, not "ready," in the sense that I don't remember what was going on and will need to reread the thread. I'll try to get it up tonight, though.

Okay, Herunarth and Duilin posts written and posted. Hopefully that'll jump start us a bit.

Yeay! Postage! (One small thing, it's just a note, I'll leave it up to you if you want to include it: Sulawen had suggested to Beleg that if his brother asked why their mother had wanted to see Beleg in private, Beleg could say Sulawen had told him their aunt had complained about them looking in on the choir rehearsals.) EDIT: you can also make a mention how it was quite a climb. I take it all those stairs to reach the top will not be braved in but a few minutes. Since we now appear to be going with the everybody-on-the-roof-scenario, may I offer a suggestion that will leave Beleg the opportunity to still go and look at the portrait without everybody hanging around? We could (and I offer this only as suggestion) have Nolentir on duty in the Palantir room, hear of his nephew being nearby on the roof, and decide to fetch him (to show him something in the Palantir, maybe a second opinion on something he saw in there, wanting to see how well Beleg uses the palantir or asking him to take over for a moment while Nolentir is needed downstairs or something, opportunities aplenty). That way Vorondariel can moon over Nolentir as he comes to the roof (maybe suddenly notice how much he looks like her imagined idea of Elendil as he stands on the roof-top or something, I'd leave that up to Voronwen ) and Beleg can go down to the Palantir room without all the people around while Aramacil leads the guests down and out of the tower. Beleg and Nolentir can even wait until the others have gone down before they access the Palentir room.

Oh, I am so happy to see a new post, Duilin! Bravo!
I liked the way you put things together very much. Especially the subtly incorporated description of the layout of the doors on the stairs.
Only I think that there wouldn't be a separate door leading to the roof OUTSIDE the tower, but a separate door leading up from the Entrance hall. I mean, you enter the Tower and in the wall on your right there is one door - Palantir stair- and on the left there is a symmetrical door to the "roof" stair.
Anyway, great posts!
Well, I think it is a good time for Voronwen to re-post her post #71, editing it a bit to fit the situation. Is it OK with you, Voronwen?

In terms of the physical set-up, if someone with a better sene of it could edit my post to refer to it all correctly, that'd be great - I don't have a very good sense of the physical lay-out.
In terms of Beleg's response to his brother, I guess we should leave that up to Val, since Beleg is his character. I missed Sulawen's suggestion when re-reading, but it's possible Beleg would just be mopey as I describe anyway, rather than lying to his brother.
BTW, did anyone have any objection to my treatment of their characters? Beyond Beleg, I suppose I had Vorondariel and the elves doing things. And Aramacil? Is he a Val character or a public one?
