Thanks. I'd love to, but shouldn't the trouble at Eryndil's house first be resolved?

Why wouldn't you post for Caelen, Rian?

I've made 3 very long posts for Caelen, and I think it's time to hear from Eryndil's side.
I do need to do something with my elves, though. I need some repair work there - I need to explain/account for them not being at the dinners, or edit them in or something. Is it OK with you guys if I edit them in? I'll put the text in in red, so you can see and approve it or suggest changes.

Perhaps you have missed it, Rian?

Nope, I didn't miss it, I'm just not sure how to do it, because I'm really not sure about the motives that they have.

Do they have to have any special motives apart from enjoying a good meal and studying those strange Men?

I envisioned them just generally doing the "wandering company" type of thing (but the company size is 2) that elves sometimes do, with occasional reports back to Elrond, to whom they would give their allegiance, since they knew his daddy and grand-daddy and grand-grand-daddy. I envisioned them in just a wandering mode right now. If they report back to Rivendell, they'd be pretty much out of the story. I think I might have them go back to Cameth Brin and hang out with Arinya to keep an eye on Caelen, in whom they've taken a bit of an interest, along with her brother. I have some funny ideas about writing them into the banquet scene, but ran out of time for today ...

OK, I've scanned thru the story, and it will need some work putting in those dratted elves! I'm thinking of this: 1. There will be some kind of formal greeting from the elves to the warden when Gimilbeth's company arrives. This can be as simple as them only revealing themselves at the end, and Gimilbeth can see them step up and bow to the warden as she is being led off. I won't put in any conversation. 2. Either they can be at the first dinner, or they can beg off with some excuse that sounds good, and this can be done when the seating arrangements are discussed ("the elves should have been at this table, too, given their high lineage and connection with Rivendell, but had graciously begged to be excused because of some urgent business of their own... his men had seen them standing on the ramparts, heads bent together in close conversation, ..etc etc". Actually their urgent business is to avoid a boring men's banquet! ) But now I'm having second thoughts - I prob. should have them attend - but that will mess up all the seating arrangements. Is it worth it? 3. I'd like for them to be at the dinner of Nov 15, when Gandy is there, and I have some ideas for that. We'd have to figure out where they would be seated. 4. Is there some formal dinner for the 14th? The first dinner seems to be the 13th, and the next with Gandy is the 15th.
