Great post, Val! Ahh.. the irony. Eryndil and Daurendil both striving to send the rival North. Not very noble on Eryndil's part as well, preciouss... The Queen will hate him for wanting to do that to her little boy. And I doubt that E will get a very grateful or obedient pupil. One thing that may need editing is this "NEW" idea of summoning young nobles to be trained with Daurendil. Actually they are already there - Nauremir used to be one of them, as well as Celemir and Raglas. They have some training in the morning - archery lesson was mentioned and sword practice, Captain Merendil being the one who trained them. But in the afternoon/evenings they spent time drinking, gambling and having fun - especially in Merendil's absence.

Thanks Gordis - I'll modify that a little later to make it just seem like it's getting re-structured now that Merendil has been away so much. My intent was that the Queen's reaction had more to do with what she has previously heard and thought about Caelen - and then to find the wedding overlapped HER BALL!! But oh yeah, I guess she might not like E wanting to send her son north. She might think of that later, but it didn't materialize anyway. I don't expect Eryndil to have devoted pupils - but life has crazy twists for us all. They might even end up grudging allies - they'll certainly both mistrust Broggha. Besides... E's sister looked kinda cute to D herself! Eryndil's motives: he didn't think the Prince should be free to continue climbing up balconies to visit young ladies all over town - certainly not Caelen again! ;D Anyway - good to be "back in the saddle". I've got all my posts since March in a single document - and I'm at like 70 pages. But looking over my posts, I see I've been very sporadic and uneven... I'll try to be more consistent. But - life hasn't always allowed it.

hah! I'd like to see Eryndil and Daurendil train - more like fight. Daur will certainly try to injure Erydnil - I imagine he must be feeling pretty low now. Lost his best friend, quarreled with Tarniel and Odare, and they will be trying to get Amantir on their side; and on top of it, loses his first (?) love, and his successful rival gets to boss him around for a whole winter. I feel rather sorry for the poor mutt. Sure, I imagine them sparring. ;D. Eryndil may be quite good with bow, tracking and wood-lore, but I guess he will find it hard to spar with the Heir - the other had good training and best teachers, while Eryndil has more battle experience. Hmm... (placing bets ;D). Edit: anyone has any idea: how did medieval sword practice look like? Were they using leather jerkins and wooden swords? Or ordinary swords - but not sharpened?

Hmm... (placing bets ;D). : : Smart money is on Eryndil. I think a Dunedain man of 40 is much stronger than one of 20 - and though the 20-year old is son of the King, the 40-year old has lived a life that has hardened him. Against Daurnedil's learned technique, Eryndil has 15 years of military training and experience. So - Eryndil has the edge in strength, endurance and experience - Daurnedil in leverage and maybe technical polish (maybe...) - but I also think Eryndil is a crafty fighter.

Fun post, Val - Eryndil certainly has a lot of irons in the fire! I liked the "what had he said about waiting 10 days? Or had he promised 10 years?" line And the idea of him training Daurendil ... THAT will go over well ... NOT!

Val - I put a pretty strong statement in for Eryndil in my first Caelen post (his mother would leave his house before Caelen would), but I think it's justified in the situation, and I stressed it was said respectfully. Let me know if you aren't happy with it. Gordis - let's have another Gimilbeth post! I'm done with all my posts now for this thread. And see if you can work the thread title into the last sentence. Or I could add onto my post - "And Caelen and Rildorien started their Perilous Journey together"

Awesome posts, Elfhild and Rian! Elfhild, I loved how you rendered Elina's impressions in terms which a Lossoth girl was likely to use: the reference to cotton-grass, misty vapors as if from breating in the cold, the diamond like a shard of ice... Skillfully done! Will the King return her to Hyarion, I wonder, or will she join the King's extensive harem? Rian - glad to see that the problem between R and C is finally settled. Now to the wedding preparations! I think I shall try to write a last post for Gimilbeth - give me a couple days. Anybody else wants to post in this thread? If not, then we are finished with PJ, it seems.

Excellent posts, Elfhild and Val.
I, too, was very impressed with the references to things that a Lossoth girl would know, such as the cotton grass. I always admired your research.

Thanks for the compliments on the Elina post. I tried to use metaphors that would refer to things which she knew. I wonder if there is something going on between Agannalo and Gilirieth. :0
