A great detailing of one of the bare parts of TA history! SpaceWeavil Joined: 27 May 2004 Reviews: 357 Location: Scotland 30 Mar 2007 20:40
Good beginning and summation of the history behind it all. I'm interested to see how the story itself works out.

2 reviews of the Prologue on the Council of Elrond
Meltintalle: Very interesting premise with a lot of thought-through backstory. The only critiscisms I have is that the backstory overwhelmed what I percieved to be the intended story... Gandalf is telling a story about a tragic princess with all this set-up and then the story about the princess and her fate goes by in what... two sentances? However, the title hints that there is more to come. 2007-05-22 11:59:55
TurinTurimbar: Quite good if I do say so myself. You know, I've started writing my own stroy here on CoE about the Fall of Arnor. Although, I've mainly focused on the Witch-King. 2007-05-15 20:30:08

More reviews form LOTRFANFICTION.com Reviewer: Ria Signed Date: 05/23/07 - 12:05AM Title: Chapter 7. Troubles in the Royal Family I really like the glimpse of Gimilbeth's grimoire. It gives me a picture of what the rationale of black magic might be in Middle Earth. At the same time, with all the attention spent on Gimilbeth and the various (scary!) bandits, it feels as though they've become the protagonists of the story. Author's Response: We believe that the fear of death and the desire for power beyond the measure of humankind were the major reasons for Numenoreans to seek Dark knowledge. The bad guys indeed predominate - at least in the beginning of the story. It so happened that in our RPG the ones who liked to write for baddies outnumbered the ones who enjoyed writing for good guys. Now, with a few new players, the balance shifted somewhat – but still we need more good ones! We are most grateful for your reviews, Ria, – stay with us and welcome to our site www.northernkingdom.proboards98.comReviewer: Ria Signed Date: 06/06/07 - 02:19PM Title: Chapter 8. The Witch and the King I enjoyed the way you elaborate on the politics of Tarnendur's position in this chapter. Gimilbeth sounds a little like the villain of a Teresa Edgerton novel: if so, she'll be wily and tough. It makes the fall of Rhudaur all too comprehensible. Author's Response: I am very glad you enjoyed the parts about Gimilbeth – she is my own character and I have written most of this chapter. Yes, she is wily and tough indeed, but she is no traitor yet. She genuinely wants the King to prevail over the Hillmen. But she also wants to become Queen… There will be much more about Gimilbeth and her family in the future. Cheers, Gordis.

We have got two quite nice reviews on Fanfiction Net Calenlass Greenleaf1 2007-09-13 ch 24, reply This is quite good--I'm surprise I didn't find this earlier this year. The characters are intriguing--especially those of the Enemy. I look forward to more. Regards, Calenlass WendWriter 2007-09-13 ch 1, reply Very nice, sad, exciting, moving, interesting - need a thesaurus to come up with enough adjectives to describe how this fic gets to the very heart of its subject matter. Excellent work. Your characterization and situations remind me of the great legends on which this story is based. I'm not enough of a canon expert to say whether this is spot on or not, but I do know I like it a lot. Added to my C2 for perusal when I need to be reminded that there are good stories to be found here. Very nice work. More please. ;D

A new review:
Title: The Prologue -A Story about the Rescue of Princesses Reviewer: Pink Siamese
I completely adore this prologue. I love the concept of presenting it in 'campfire tale' form first---narrated by a bard in a safe environment with all the messy details streamlined and organized into resonance. Then going back in future chapters and telling it again, with all the confusion and grit and contradictions. I've never seen a prologue like this before. Excellent!

We got two new reviews on Tolkienfanfiction - both by Formegil. Runnings:This is simply an excellent story! I have always (well, since I first read LotR) been interested in the history of Arnor and its successor states. There are only hints here and there, though, in the books besides the very general account in the Appendix A. This is very good gapfiller. All that happens is quite believable. The characters are also well-done and act convincingly. I will add this to my favourites. Intrigues and SorceryI liked this as much as the first part. You guys are very talented writers. My favourite characters are Hurgon, Eryndil and for some reason Algeirr (maybe because he's such a down-to-earth type). The Witch-King is nothing like in appearance I have imagined him to be before, but he's very realistic (in the world of Tolkien, that is). I look forward to next chapters. The only thing that bothers me is Odare fighting the bear. I mean, almost the only women in Tolkien's legends to engage in physical battles were Haleth and Eowyn. But that is only a small matter in an excellent story. I have no time now as I leave in a few hours, but please, someone, write the author's responces to Formegil - it is not good not to react. You log in as NKW and the password is the same as for " scribe" here. Serenoli and/or Val, do you want to respond? He/she likes Hurgon and Eryndil the best - congrats! (besides Algeirr, who Gordy wrote, and she's gone I guess)

OK - I just wrote a reply to Formegil's second Review. But I had a little bit of a hard time finding where the reviews were, once I logged in. (I hope I could find them a second time) Maybe I'll try once more - and see if I can answer his first comment as well. EDIT: Alright - I also answered his first. But SHEESH... I nearly blew it. I wanted to edit my response and the only option I saw was 'delete' - so I did it. It took out his whole review! Anyway - I wrote a note, pasted his review back in (thank you Gordis - for copying it to our site!) and then put my corrected response back in. WHEW! ;D
