In his time as chieftain, Orcs again began to ravage the land of Eriador, and he led his people against them alongside the forces of Rivendell. In his day was the Long Winter (2758-59), although those in Eriador were less troubled at that time than those of Rohan and Gondor.

When you say "less troubled" you mean by enemies? Because I'm sure it was extremely cold in Eriador if Rohan was frozen out, being that its considerably farther north. The deal with the weather, as is pointed out by Tolkien of the Long Winter, is it affects friend and foe alike. It was likely the invasions along the coast would have been much more successful had the winter been 'normal'.
Other than that, I think you write too much interaction between the Dunedain of the North and Gondor with all the secret traveling for my personal tastes, but its fan-fic so anything is possible.
