Hal Foster was the original creator of the "Prince Valiant" comic strip back in 1937. Though this comic has nothing to do with Tolkien or his work, it has some great stories about King Arthur, Vikings, good art showing armor and weaponry, clothing, castles, horses, trappings, furniture, etc. of an early period. Besides that, I like to read it.
