Thanks, Eärniel I've been trying but i'm still having issues. Does the pic need to be hosted somewhere (ie. ImageShack or similar)? Sorry for being a dumb newbie!

Welcome, Voronwen! Here are some instructions. First you have to host your 100x100 avatar somewhere: (ie. ImageShack, Photobucket or similar) and get a direct link (http://etc...). Copy the link and go here, to this site. Here you open Profile then open Modify Profile then find " Avatar URL" field. There you past the copied link to your avvie. Below you will find two more fields: Avatar Width and Avatar Height Put 100 in both fields (otherwise the stupid software will resize your avatar to a smaller one). Then you click " Modify Profile" at the bottom of the page and it should work. Hope that helps

Yay!! I got it to work. Now i just need to figure out how to make my sig aquamarine, to match my gown All in good time! Edited to Add: I did it! Here's how: 1. Open up a new post 2. Type your desired sig in the new post 3. Format it in any way you like - font size, Italics, etc, and font color, from the "Colors" dropdown 4. Cut the whole thing - including tags - out of the new post window 5. Paste it into your profile under Sig. Hope that helps others out there who may want colored sigs.

Thanks! She is Hiver (Winter) from Alphonse Mucha's Les Saisons.

Here's Winter from another variation of Mucha's Les Saisons: I'll probably use this one for when i create Voronwen's descendant character. The first one with the darker hair is more like me, so i decided on her for my main character This second one also has the same rather shy demeanor about her, and since her descendant is going to be very similar in many ways, it'll work.

Cool!
The pics are lovely - it's not easy to find pictures that work well.

So true!! I'm glad you like them I find that the Art Nouveau and Pre-Raphaelite depictions of women are perfect for this purpose.

Mucha! I thought the style looked familiar. Of course! Always wanted to learn how to draw like that. And the pre-raphaelites tend to be my first place to check for good avatars as well.
