I have just made a post for Elina. The Witch-king has many ways of healing... some more pleasant than others. ;D
You know what they say about the hands of a king... the lips do wonders, too. ;D

Something - and I don't think it is the ability to read the portents of the future - tells me that Hyarion will never see this girl again. ;D

This seems like the wrong thread for it, but the discussion is going on here. I have to admit that I just have a hard time with the concept of Ring-Wraith as "Healer". It seems like they would be more inclined to move others toward wraithdom, rather than away from it.

Come on, Val, she was not turning into a wraith, she was just dying... Who wants a sick woman in his bed?

Well, I'd agree that I don't see the WK healing for the sake of healing! I'm assuming that he has some reason of his own for it. And I thought that she WAS turning into a wraith, since it was a Morgul-blade ...

The functioning of Morgul blades is not very clear. I believe the blade, or a shard of the blade has to pierce the heart - then the person turns into a wraith. If there is a wound with no shard in it (Elina's case), we have to deal with Morgul poison alone and that leads the victim into an early grave, but doesn't seem to enslave their fea or make the hroa invisible. Boromir I mentioned in LOTR Appendix A lived for 14 years after being stabbed by a morgul blade, but it doesn't look like he turned into a wraith. He simply died. But even if Elina WAS turning into a wraith, what need did the WK have of such wraith? Alive she may be of some use , but undead?

re Morgul blades - true, I had forgotten that about Boromir. But as far as why a wraith - why were other people wraithed, for that matter? Revenge, or what? Nice Agannalo post - slept for 25 days?! Wow!! And nice line about knowledge, comparing it to Dwarves.
