Great post, Angmar! Broggha is a man of many hidden talents, certainly. I wonder if the W-K is favouring him with a vision as well? And interesting history for Belzagar too...

Great post, Angmar! Broggha is a man of many hidden talents, certainly. I wonder if the W-K is favouring him with a vision as well? And interesting history for Belzagar too... Serenoli, glad you liked the post. I see Belzagar and Broggha as two very different personalities. Belzagar, a man of noble pedigree, education and wealth, is much like his ancestors, the Numenoreans, and seeks power and eternal life. Broggha, while literate, craves above all things power, land, prestige, followers. I see Belzagar with a desire for the arcane, as being a more responsive individual to visions. Broggha is more brute strength, and while he is under the Witch-king's control, he would still sometimes listen to a shaman of his people, old Hrani, who "speaks with the ancestors." Broggha, though, is under the magic protection of Angmar. Remember when Aewen tried to kill him, he woke up quite unexpectedly in time to fend off her blow. These two, while being so opposite, are gradually coming to the point of forming a secret alliance, both under the domination of the Black King of Angmar.

Angmar - wonderful, awesome post! I like it so very much because it has the real medieval feeling to it - like Conan Doyle's "White Company" or Eco's "the name of the Rose". I think up to now we never managed to render it so well, excepting Earniel's bear post. Wauu - Broggha singing! It becomes him very well. Loved this "Belzagar had noticed that these honorable deaths automatically ushered the fallen into the golden paradise of the afterlife, where the warriors did exactly what they had done on Arda - fight, drink, wench and once again die honorable deaths. " ;D ;D So very true - all these Viking beliefs are like this. The vision is quite well done - not too much, just a nod, but in meant a lot top Belzagar. I have edited a typo in the post - Belzagar instead of Nimruzir. Also I made Nimruzir's young relative he proposed to Belzagar his grand-niece instead of a niece. Another Nimruzir's grand-niece is the Queen Eilinel, so the young girl should be at least from the same generation if not younger.

I consider myself more a writer of historic fiction than I do of fantasy. I enjoyed writing this post and was visualizing in my mind the way that Lord Belzagar's great hall would have appeared. Eareniel's bear post was memorable, and I hope that we can have more writing in the same vein in the future. With a drinking horn of mead in his hand to lend him more inspiration, I can see the giant redhead breaking loose in his lusty barritone with a rousing tribute to Odin. Then, when asked for an encore, he could go into a bawdy song about the warrior maidens of Vahalla. *grins* Yes, both approval of his efforts and verification that Âmbal has successfully made the journey. I certainly appreciate your making these corrections.

I have introduced a new character - an ill-tempered Priest of Melkor.
Angmar, please, read and correct my post. Any edits for Alassar?

Ooh, very interesting post, Gordis! And I like the avatar you got for Udanbal - I think I would be very frightened if he ever glared at me.

Thank you, Serenoli!
Why won't you post here in this thread as well - describing Odare's journey and how she finally obtained permission from the King and farewells etc. I guess Daurendil would try to apologise when he cools down - but it will be too late. I think all this could be told as a flashback. What do you think, Serenoli?

Gordis, truly a wonderful, awesome post! I can see the contention and controversy between branches and sects of different religions repeated in real history over and over since the dawn of time.
I was uncertain of your use of "devote." I think the word should be "devout" and I have changed the text to reflect this. In one place, I changed "devote" to "devoted." Really there were very few mistakes other than these.

Thank you, Angmar. "Devote" is French , I am sorry. But it gets unnoticed by the spell-checker, of course. Glad you liked the post. Please, continue- I guess the Steward should report to the King and the WK should start thinking what to do with the Priest. Something must be done and fast - as Udunabal might make a really unpleasant scene at the Solstice Celebration.

Gordis, mid-week is always a bad time for me to write anything because I am tied up with work. I hope to get something written by the weekend.
