Spammers on Old Board

Recently there has been a constant deluge of spam attacks on the old Northern Kingdom board. I have been forced to lock down the forum to prevent future attacks. All present members have to log on to access the threads, and no new members are allowed to register at this time. I have also banned the spammers' ISPs and as far as I know, the only way anyone who is not already a member can log onto the board is by hacking. I didn't want to do this, but these persistant spammers' constant attacks on the board have given me no other choice. I think that keeping the board locked up for a few weeks would discourage these spammers. After that, if there is demand, I will make the board accessible once again to the public and new members.

I have also made Alcuin a moderator on the old board, as well as increased Gordis and Rian's powers (I thought they were global moderators, but the information in the control panel implied they were in charge of only two subforums). Threads may be deleted by opening them up, scrolling down to the bottom, clicking the Moderation drop down menu, and selecting "Delete Topic."

These spammers will move in and take over a board if they can. It takes a constant effort to keep them out.
