Yes, his field is "architorture", as he once called it BTW, Val, my son is still very interested in that field.

OK - I did this long ago, and always wanted to "finish" it with some colored pencils, but I think I'll go ahead and post it for now, and maybe continue on it later. FORNOST:(Dated ca. 1000 Third Age - more the time of my "Visitors Come to Court" fanfic. By 1347 there are buildings around the outside, probably surrounded by the beginnings of a defensive outer wall)

Can't believe I never came here before. You're a very good artist, Val... I liked the Brochenridge sketch, and the one with the banner/fire most. Your latest one is interesting as well - the walls are sloping and so it looks like a small hollow plateau

But it is a sloping plateau - is it not? You better add some explanations, Val!
And - do you have something on Amon Sul?

Yes Serenoli - it's a plateau. Not really "hollow" - but some passages are cut through it, and they probably have some reservoirs of water down below, etc. The town itself is built on top of it. It's a 'stepped' plateau, and the upper part is where the King of Arthedain and the Prince of Fornost live - and where the other nobles of the land have their 'townhomes'. There's also an upper 'square' of sorts, a great hall and a tower for the palantir.
Sorry Gordis - no Amon Sul yet. This drawing itself has sat for a long time, so unfortunately, I've got a big back-log of things to do.
PS: The road coming straight out of the front gate is the Great North-South Road - it was called "The Greenway" at the time of LOTR, but only because it wasn't used and fell into disrepait - so it would not be called so in our game. The road that branches off to the left (west) heads toward Annuminas, which is about 100 miles away.

I dimly recall the old name for Greenway was "the King's road" Or was it in a fanfic?
