Can't help you with the lay-out of the tower, really. In terms of Beleg's response to his brother, I guess we should leave that up to Val, since Beleg is his character. I missed Sulawen's suggestion when re-reading, but it's possible Beleg would just be mopey as I describe anyway, rather than lying to his brother. Oh it's a minor thing, really, which is why I left it up to you to include or no. Although actually Beleg wouldn't be lying to Aramacil, Sulawen after all did say her sister had complained about the boys looking in on the choir ladies, but that she trusted her sons to behave. It just wasn't the main reason why she wanted to talk to Beleg.

Well, if I had to write it again, I'd probably change it, but since Beleg is Val's character, I'll leave it up to him to decide what to do. If he wants me to change it, I'm happy to do so.

No objections - and really, as I said before, you guys can treat Beleg as a public character, if you like. As for the physical layout - if a tower has two stairways, as Gordis describes, I suspect they would be stacked - and offset a constant 180 degrees from one another - rather than running in opposite directions and having to criss-cross twice each time around. Makes more sense spatially and construction-wise. But I've never been in one, so I can't say for sure.

Val, in old towers and cathedrals stairs never go around the whole tower. They always run in very TIGHT spirals inside the outer wall, winding around a central column: they are like deep wells in a tower wall with stairs inside. (Like here in Pisa Tower from 12th century: www.killgrove.org/tuscany/pisa/.websize/pisa-leaning-tower-stairs.jpg) I don't think they knew how to make a different design for a tower stair back in Middle-Ages...

Of course, the Númenoreans of old would likely have had technology not available to Europeans in the 13th century.

That way Vorondariel can moon over Nolentir as he comes to the roof (maybe suddenly notice how much he looks like her imagined idea of Elendil as he stands on the roof-top or something, I'd leave that up to Voronwen ) Hah! I like your thinking!!!

*pokes thread with stick* So? Or else, anyone interested in a joint-post with Kirael or the kitchen staff?

Well, I guess not then. I suppose it was too good to be true.
